What do I think about you?

Posted by mwmike Mar. 4, 2009 @ 11:55 AM EST

Back in the later days of November I added a short section to my blog posts that was similar to Sidorio's 'Did Someone Say Plagiarism?' post (and Tramps' newspost that Sidorio copied, but no-one cares about that one, since it was written over just a few days after it's creation). This is quite similar to that, but I'm trying to make this more NG Related, rather than how much I know you. I got the idea of creating a list based on your NG Activity from my good friend ThePigeonMaster, so props to him.

I'm feeling lazy, so instead of adding a load of unnecessary shit to this, I'll just get on with it, so let's get this started!

Done:

Lizzardis,
SBB,
Insanimation,
Andhination,
DX5231,
Danicos,
No36,
sonofkirk,
Sawdust,
RohanTheBarbarian,

In Queue:

ThePigeonMaster,

TheSilverGuitar,
Otto007,
Hacsev,
TacoFreak,
Cainine-K9,
Ninja-Without-Sight,
Killa-Noyz (via Facebook, which is why there aren't any comments by him on the page).

Comments are off until I finish this batch of users. It will probably take a long time until I catch up, due to a load of homework.

Please note that I have started to work on this again (18.5.09)
-----

Make sure you check Freaknews out, a friend of mine is co-running it and it's pretty interesting.

NG Friends List

Posted by mwmike Jan. 24, 2009 @ 6:10 AM EST

Well; recently there has been another 'Newgrounds Friends Lists' bandwagon, and since I missed the last one that I should hop aboard this new one, so here's my list (unfinished and in no particular order):

RobotTaco

Taco is definitely one of the Newgrounders that I enjoy talking to the most. He's one of the funniest users on the site and one of the most popular, too. I talk to him semi-regularly on Facebook and the Party as well as this place.

Sidorio

Some people's humour and attitude is just so brilliant that you've got to love them. Sidorio is one of these people. I first met him when he sent a pretty generic message that evolved into discussion about Pizza Hut. He's back again now, after a short hiatus, which is great.

RenAndChi2

A great person and one of the people here of whom I know the best. I regularly visit his site, 'Chat Central', and he goes onto a lot of the same forums as me.

Lizzardis

Another user of whom I know from several places. I first got acquainted with him when I ran something similar to this in which I wrote a short comment about everyone who made a comment on the page. He joined the NGDD on the exact same day as I did, too. He has recently joined the NGPD, and I'm far more active there than the DoD, so I'm likely to see him a lot more now.

Aci6

Another user of whom I have known for a long time and has recently started making Wi/Ht? Level up Lists. He is helping me to raise my whistle rank again, which is helpful.

Shreddy

Another user I was quite well acquainted with that has recently left the site. He was a great poster and he will definitely be missed dearly during his absence.

Ragnarokia

I haven't spoke to him for quite a while, since he's been quite inactive from the BBS lately, but he's a great person and a close friend of mine especially around October and November.

Fish1892/INSAnimation

A great guy that I've known for a while, but I haven't been very close to him until recently. We're both Wi/Ht? listmakers and NGPD members, so we talk very often, and have done since we were both new to the forums.

No36

Back when he did the LUL lists I, too, was starting out. He's stopped now, but I still talk to him occasionally. A nice guy.

SolarDave

A great person and amazing user of whom I met when I first started using the stickam chat application. He seems to be slightly inactive on the forums now, but he's still a brilliant user and I respect him highly.

Hacsev

One of the most helpful users on the site by far. When I realized that he signed up in 2008 I was amazed, since his knowledge of the site and amazing stats are those of a veteran user. He is also helping me out with my whistle and getting it up to a shiny level again.

Ismael92

When I first started posting in Wi/Ht? and C&C, Frank was one of the users that helped me out the most with getting used to putting effort into my posts. A very helpful member and a good person.

Killa-Noyz

Yigit is one of the Newgrounds users of whom I look up to the most. He used to be a moderator over at the party, and I talk to him regularly on Facebook.

DA-Freakshow

Freakshow is another one of my friends from the party, and one of the people I talk to the most online. He was the person who got me into Linux and taught me far more about computing that I put into use regularly; I'd never be this well-acquainted with computers if not for him.

Agustana

Kaylee is another user of whom I first met at the party. She's a pleasant user that is definitely one of the most helpful users when it comes to writing; and has given me a lot of constructive criticism.

RohanTheBarbarian
Another of my good friends from over in Wi/Ht? A helpful, nice guy who makes Newgrounds a better place with both his brilliant posting habits and NG guides.

Danicos

The self-proclaimed No. 1 Mexican. Sorry, Luis, but you've got competition.

As I said earlier; this is unfinished. If anyone else comes to my mind soon then I'll add them.

EDIT: There's a lot more people that I want to add (eg. Black-Ops, WATCHurFLAG), though I honestly can't be bothered to write any more out.

Bad News Regarding Shreddy

Posted by mwmike Jan. 23, 2009 @ 12:29 PM EST

Well, I just signed onto Facebook and after several minutes of browsing I got an IM through from BBS Regular Shreddy. He said that he has started to find this place boring; so he will be very inactive and may even be permanently quitting. It seems that a lot of users have been leaving this place recently, and a lot of gaps are opening up. Sidorio, Shreddy and (apparently) DgsGaming are going to be leaving soon, and I'll miss all three of these users.

I've always considered Shreddy as one of the users that I knew very well, so it's a shame that he will be leaving. He will be dearly missed; and I hope that he will return sometime soon, hopefully sometime during the coming year.

Laughter (MichaelHurst Version)

Posted by mwmike Jan. 21, 2009 @ 5:19 PM EST

"Ugh", MichaelHurst moaned as MichaelHurst opened MichaelHurst's eyes and found MichaelHurst's self awoken in a soggy patch of moss, surrounded by a large meadow in the middle of the night. A question arose in MichaelHurst's mind, "How did MichaelHurst get here?". There was no obvious answer, though how MichaelHurst got into this place wasn't the most important matter, how to get out was. MichaelHurst wasn't going to escape by remaining completely idle - MichaelHurst was going to have to explore.

The meadow seemed to spread on for miles, stretching from the ground under MichaelHurst's feet to the horizon, excluding a single side of which had a steep hill, and just at the peak stood a forest. After quite a while of deep contemplation MichaelHurst decided to go with MichaelHurst's instinct and climb the hill - a decision MichaelHurst would later regret.

Despite the hill being exceedingly steep, MichaelHurst made my way to the top within minutes, it had certainly been a speedy ascent, albeit a tiring one. MichaelHurst's body was functioning above it's normal rate by far, this certainly was strange. MichaelHurst collapsed at the forest's opening and lay there for a few minutes, just trying to gather MichaelHurst's thoughts about what could possibly be happening to MichaelHurst, however nothing came to mind. MichaelHurst did not think of anything that could possibly help MichaelHurst make sense of the situation, nevertheless there was something that just made the whole situation seem even more ludicrous, the sun didn't seem to be rising at all! It had been hours since MichaelHurst woke up here and this strange land still remained close to complete and utter darkness, the crisp, cloudless, navy sky had not changed in the slightest since MichaelHurst's arrival. MichaelHurst realized that MichaelHurst had been waiting here for too long, so MichaelHurst spurred his on once again, knowing that MichaelHurst would never succeed on MichaelHurst's attempts to find a way into the world that MichaelHurst was familiar with if MichaelHurst didn't move at all, maybe the events of later that day wouldn't gave unfolded as they did, maybe there would have been a positive conclusion to these idiosyncratic events, though as MichaelHurst did enter MichaelHurst will never know.

MichaelHurst stepped out of the gloomy, bleak meadow and into the deep, gloomy forest. There was a cognant eerie feel about this place, something almost mystical... definitely not a positive aura emanating from the core of this strange strip of land. Nevertheless MichaelHurst pressed on and kept walking. All of a sudden MichaelHurst heard some sort of laughter in the distance, paired with the rapid sound of light footsteps, perhaps there was something else too, MichaelHurst would guess the sound of leaves rustling. Whatever this was, it was moving quickly, the trio of sounds were moving closer at a remarkable rate, far above the usual human limit. MichaelHurst was starting to get scared now, so MichaelHurst turned around and sped away as fast as MichaelHurst's legs could take MichaelHurs, though it seemed that the sounds were coming from that direction too. Unanticipatedly, a fit of dizziness took over MichaelHurst, and MichaelHurst fell flat onto the floor where MichaelHurst lay, MichaelHurst's vision fading away. The rest of MichaelHurst senses had been numbed too, aside form my hearing, which intensified. The laughing was excruciatingly loud, and although we were in an open space it seemed to echo through MichaelHurst's head, the constant sound of insane laughter just echoing through MichaelHurst's head over and over, just pushing MichaelHurst's mind to it's limits and beyond them.

Through squinting eyes MichaelHurst saw a pallid, disproportionate face looking down on MichaelHurst. Despite the laughter, there was pure hatred in those two eyes, they were a window to a dimension of pain and suffering. Those eyes, full of anger and despair, were the last things MichaelHurst ever saw.

I didn't really like having that story as my most recent newspost, and since I have nothing else to say I'm just going to leave this placeholder here.

Great Threads 9.01 + More Helpful Newgrounds Resources

Posted by mwmike Jan. 10, 2009 @ 11:55 AM EST

After looking through my old newsposts, I realized that it would be a good idea to revive my old list 'Great Threads' for the second time. The last one was up as my most recent newspost for over a month, and it got more comments than any other newspost I've ever made, only by one (and the other one was only up for a week), and it was far more popular than most newsposts by far. I'll be focusing on doing more than just threads now, hence why the name has been changed. This means that there will be a few links to other places on the site that will be helpful, like other helpful Newsposts and Flashes. With no further ado, I present to you Great Threads version III (GT v.3), or 9.01 since I'm using the Y.MM numbering system this time!

I probably won't change my username

Posted by mwmike Jan. 4, 2009 @ 2:01 PM EST

As it turns out I should be keeping my username as it is. I've been speaking to a few people who all think that it would be best for me to keep it as MwMike. I'll probably have some capitals added, though apart from that it will stay as it currently is.

6 comments | Log in to comment! | Share this!

As said in the title, the username 'MwMike' is a pretty meaningless name, it started off as an abbreviation though now it's lost that meaning and is just turning into another shitty, pointless username. I've been hoping for a name change since the Summer though I haven't really thought up anything to change it to. Yesterday I was thinking about this so I cycled through all the names that I'd be content with having. Right now I'm thinking of going with 'MikeKeating', since that's not taken, but I realized that some of the people of Newgrounds could have a good idea that I could use instead. If you've got a suggestion just list it below. Thanks.
